On & Off Campus Resources

LUCares

Â鶹ԭ´´ encourages you to report all forms of violence and seek needed help. There are various methods for reporting violence and/or assisting a friend. It is important to us that you know the available options and resources. This page is dedicated to helping you identify resources that are private, confidential, on-campus and, off-campus.

Please note that there are two types of resources to consider when seeking help for yourself and/or a friend.

Confidential Resource

If you speak with someone from a confidential resource, your identity and information cannot be shared without your written consent. Exceptions are made in response to court orders, in cases where there is child abuse, and/or a serious threat to hurt self or others. Confidential Resources may be on or off-campus.

What to do if you are sexually assaulted

  • The first thing that you should do if you have been sexually assaulted is get to a safe place. Â鶹ԭ´´ encourages students to report the matter promptly to campus police.

  • It is also important to try and preserve any possible evidence. This may include (but is not limited to) clothing, beverages, weapons, etc. Try not to touch anything until the police have arrived.

  • Avoid bathing, washing hair or going to the bathroom.

  • Get medical care as soon as possible. Even if you do not think that you have any injuries you should still have a medical exam. You can also get tested for drugs if you believed you were given something without your consent.

  • If you want to make a report contact LUPD or the Title IX Coordinator deputies at the numbers listed above.
