Earn both your Engineering and Physics degrees with this unique 5-year program.
Â鶹Դ´ and Northern Illinois University (NIU) have partnered to let you obtain your Physics, B.S. from Â鶹Դ´ and your Mechanical Engineering, B.S. from NIU.
How does the program work?
This program allows you to take advantage of the strengths of both Â鶹Դ´ and NIU. Your program starts at Â鶹Դ´ with your core Engineering courses. By your fifth or sixth semester, you will be taking courses at both institutions.
Admission Requirements
Applicants to the Joint Program must be admitted by both Â鶹Դ´ and NIU. In addition, any current Â鶹Դ´ student may, with Â鶹Դ´'s permission, apply for the program, and will be considered for admission by NIU using its usual transfer student criteria. Students must meet Â鶹Դ´ and NIU criteria for satisfactory academic progress in order to remain in the Joint Program, including a minimum 2.75/4.0 GPA in their Â鶹Դ´ courses. Transfer credit earned from other institutions prior to enrollment at Â鶹Դ´ must meet NIU transfer credit requirements. For students enrolled in the Joint Program, NIU will accept transfer credit completed with a grade of "C" or better which has been accepted by Â鶹Դ´, provided the student has obtained prior Â鶹Դ´ and NIU approval by filing a student petition in accordance with existing Â鶹Դ´ and NIU regulations. NIU courses will be offered in DeKalb or at the Naperville Campus. Students must satisfy all published requirements of the institution granting the degree.
